Reviewed July 31, 2026It Begins in Fort Worth is a Fort Worth-rooted editorial project with two clearly separated parts: a restored economic-development archive and a current Texas Gaming Desk.

Why this desk exists

Texas gambling information is often written as if every state shares one market. Texas does not. The state constitution, Penal Code, federal Indian law, charitable-gaming rules, racing law, and changing legislative proposals create categories that need to be identified before a practical answer can be given. The desk begins with those categories rather than an operator's marketing language.

The Fort Worth bridge

The domain's earlier publication documented Fort Worth economic development. That material remains available in the Fort Worth Archive and is not rewritten to manufacture a gambling history. The current desk keeps the local point of view: public records, source dates, regional geography, and consequences for Texans. The new publication date is stated openly.

Commercial independence

The site may later earn a commission from clearly marked commercial links. No such link is active in the current build. A commercial relationship cannot change whether Texas authorizes a product, whether a venue belongs in the statewide count, or whether an operator has supplied enough evidence for a review. Affiliate disclosure appears in the footer, Terms, and Editorial Policy.

Corrections and ownership

Each article carries a named desk byline so readers know which role owns the source check. Corrections can be sent through the Contact page with the disputed sentence and a primary source. Material legal changes receive a new review date, not a silent edit.

Publication scope

This policy applies to the current Texas Gaming Desk and its generated editorial pages. The separately labeled Fort Worth Archive preserves material from the domain’s earlier publication and may reflect the technology, contacts, and policies of that historical site. Archive content is not used to imply a prior gambling publication, and a historical statement should not be treated as a current desk policy.

Everything the desk covers starts from the statewide picture of gambling in Texas.
